Mobile Grocery List Idea
Posted: June 5, 2011 Filed under: New Product Idea Leave a comment »I was surprised when I found out that Sobeys had create a mobile site. Its actually really good. It allows you to see the flyer in a mobile friendly page as well as add your own items to the list.
There is one thing that is missing that I am really surprised no one has done yet.
The Idea
Optimize a grocery list application for the store’s layout. Shoppers would be able to create an account on the main website and then login to their account on the mobile site. This would allow a much more user friendly way of adding items to the list (drag and drop from specials etc..)
Once added, the list would be sorted by the layout of the store. The user would login to the mobile version when they get to the store and the order of the list would actually make their shopping experience more efficient.
This would also allow the grocery store to highlight specials in the context of the section you are in.
